Jason Lyon is a British-Chinese illustrator fluent in both English and Chinese Mandarin. His multicultural background profoundly influences his creative process, infusing his creations with a unique blend of the vibrant essences of Asian and Western cultures, making his work a captivating intersection of the two worlds that transcend linguistic and cultural boundaries.

Jason's artistic vision is characterised by a surreal style where fluidity is intrinsic to every single element, whether it be floating clouds, swirling dust, or flourishing plants. His work captures the brief beauty of motion and time, imbuing inanimate objects with life and dynamism, transforming mundane daily life into fantastical scenarios that encourage viewers to discover the extraordinary in the ordinary.

Since graduating from Falmouth University in 2019, Jason has garnered acclaim from prestigious entities in the illustration world, including 3x3 Magazine, Communication Arts, and the World Illustration Awards (WIA).

His collaborations span a diverse range of fields and mediums. From partnering with Quarto Publishing on a fully illustrated encyclopaedia to creating promotional illustrations for Apple and designing brand packaging for naka. His illustrations have also graced the pages and covers of renowned publications, including The New York Times, The Guardian, and Washington Post. Notably, his continuous collaboration with scientific publications like New Scientist and AAAS, and his year-long cover illustration for The Lancet Rheumatology in 2022.

Dedicated to giving back to the illustration community, Jason actively participates as a mentor for The Arena UK, nurturing emerging creatives. Apart from drawing, his biggest passions are reading, travelling and frequenting coffee shops.
